Subject: Equal Employment Opportunity
- Equal employment opportunity continues to be an important and
integral part of Petra Tech management philosophy and policy.
We recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in job classifications
without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, or national
origin, or non-disqualifying mental or physical disability.
- Although we have made progress in increasing the representation
of minorities and women at many levels throughout the company,
we must continue affirmative action at every Petra Tech operation
and facility and ensure that equal opportunity exists in fact,
as well as in policy. I expect all members of our management team
to have the same commitment.
- All members of management must be fully aware of and trained
as to their responsibilities in carrying out our equal opportunity
and affirmative action commitments, and in maintaining a work
environment free of unlawful discrimination, intimidation, hostility,
and other forms of prohibited offensive behavior, including sexual
harassment and harassment based on color, religion, age, race,
national origin, non-disqualifying mental or physical disability
or gender, with or without sexual conduct, including same sex
harassment.
- Overall responsibility for equal employment opportunity and
affirmative action programs is assigned to Lisa Miller, Director
– Administration/Business Ethics. She will work with, and
be supported by, the Business Unit equal opportunity program personnel.
- This reaffirmation of our equal opportunity policy should be
included in each operation’s Affirmative Action Plan for
2003.
